Verenigd door een gezamenlijke liefde voor groove bands als Lettuce, RH Factor en Tower of Power beginnen The Vonks vanaf februari 2022 met samenspelen in Arnhem.
Snel wordt duidelijk wat de missie is van The Vonks; songs schrijven in de funktraditie met veel ruimte voor improvisatie en soli. Met als gevolg dat elke live show anders is en de spanning en het spelplezier het publiek stimuleren te dansen en te grooven.
Dikwijls wordt er geflirt met elementen uit (neo-) soul, jazz en rock, doch altijd met een groovy core. In 2024 staat de debuut EP op de planning, die ongetwijfeld het nodige stof zal doen opwaaien in de Nederlandse groove scene.

United by a shared love for groove bands like Lettuce, RH Factor, and Tower of Power, The Vonks began playing together in Arnhem from February 2022.
It quickly became clear what The Vonks’ mission is: writing songs in the funk tradition with plenty of room for improvisation and solos. As a result, every live show is different, and the excitement and playfulness stimulate the audience to dance and groove.
Elements of (neo-) soul, jazz, and rock are often flirted with, but always with a groovy core. A debut EP is planned for 2024, which will undoubtedly make waves in the Dutch groove scene.
